This plugin has been renamed ‘Download Counter Lite’ as I have now released an ‘Advanced’ version which works with virtually all file types such as Video, Music etc.
Version 1.2 changes the admin page so that things fit a little better and also correct the problem of buttons not working in IE7.
Does WordPress need another Download Counter? Possibly not but I had difficulty finding one that worked for me so this is my contribution!
Keep track of the number of downloads from your site. That’s all it does and does it simply. Keep a list of the downloadable files, replace the URL with the one the plugin gives you and, hopefully, sit back and watch the numbers rise!
Please note that in it’s current form it will not work with media files such as MP3 or video. It is intended for file types that do not ‘open’ in a browser! For an alternative version that will perform these downloads, please see the ‘Advanced’ version.
Make sure you read the ‘readme’ file and put the two files in the right place!

In this version, there is at least two good new things for IE7:
- The buttons are working;
- The page now fits on the screen.

Any idea when you might adjust it for other file types (mp3, video, etc.)?
