I have always rather disliked the standard WordPress method of navigating through pages of post - the simple next/previous controls. It works well enough in the ’single’ template where you really are displaying an individual item, but in the pages of posts I have always felt it was rather weak and gives no indication of just where you are currently located in a site.
So I wrote and implemented this plugin for my own use and now offer it to anyone who prefers to see a properly ‘paged’ control. To see it click on my logo to go to the ‘home’ page or, because it has a far larger number of posts, visit Yellow Swordfish itself. You will need to style the CSS but I have included my own in the readme file as an example.

Of course, if you’d like to say something nice or helpful, then feel free to leave a comment! I do prune them from time to time.
Who knows what WP dev-team are thinking!
Everything’s just too simple come in default!
I believe WP will be more popular if Every Plugin you wrote should integrated into the official WP release
No Doubt that without your plugin support, I would rather choose Joomla instead!

This is a gorgeous little plugin and it appears to work perfectly, but I just wish there was a little more information about how to modify the way it appears.
What I was wanting to do with this is have it display like this: http://elektroelch.de/hacks/wp/pagebar/pic1.png
but purely in format only…with the little arrows and the page 1 and last page remaining in place with the middle page numbers being the only things that change. Any chance you could tell me how to do this with your plugin?
