Where is says to replace the URL, do I edit that in the download manager?  I get a blank page when I click on the link in my post.

The URL referred to is the URL of the actual file to be downloaded. So, for example the link to this plugin would normally be something like:

http://www.stuff.yellowswordfish.com/downloads/DownLoadCount11.zip

but to get the counter t work, I replace this link with whatever the manager tells me, in this case:

http://www.stuff.yellowswordfish.com/download-manager.php?id=17

make sense?

I think that what you've decribed in your excellent read me file makes sense but I am getting an error on page when I try to download the link. Can you help me? I've taken down the active link but I've put up a test link for you to see. Tell me what you think.

Here is the code for the download — http://scovilleclan.com/download-manager.php?id=1

Here is the link just before the download link - http://scovilleclan.com/test-downloader/

And this is the actual link - that doesn't have the download counter linked to it.

http://scovilleclan.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/03/wp-deepthoughts-jack-handey-version-10.zip

Let me know what I can do. I'd like to get this resolved soon. Thanks.

Great Wordpress Plugins by the way.

Out of interest none of the three links worked for me. There are some extraneous characters in the third one.

Are you sure you've put the download-manager.php file in the correct place? This appears to be missing and is giving a 404. Is it actually in the root of your site - i.e., the same folder that your config.php file is in?

I just checked the link too. The test link works if I right click — then the

 http://scovilleclan.com/download-manager.php?id=1

Try this again. It worked for me as I said when I right clicked it.

Well I just tried the download-manager.php?id=1 link in your last post here and it downloaded just fine. So it works for me but are you still seeing a problem?

No, it appears to be working just fine now. Thanks for the direction and the speed in your responses.
