I have the latest wordpress 2.1 and the counter doesnt seem to work quite right.
First: After i add a counter, cant delete it or edit. I have to go straight to the db and delete the record.
Second: The URL for the download, no matter where is located, still shows as invalid link, but using the download-manager.php?id=X the file works anyways, regarless the location.
This exactly is the plugin i need but hopefully this this can be work out.

Curious. But obviously some of the buttons work because you can save one…
Are you using IE? And do you have javascript enabled? I'd be inerested to know if you have the same problem in say Firefox or any other good browser. Might be a hint there.
The check for a valid link was a bit experimental. Are you keeping your download file(s) outside of the root domain path? Plus, could you tell me your url and where the download files are? Email me if you prefer. Of course, the stats of the link message was only trying to be helpful. It make no difference.

Well IE7 doesn't really work any better than IE6 did.. but no-one else has reported this problem. I was simply asking if you could try it in a different browser to try and help pinpont what the problem is.
I'm lost on the path if that's how you have them stored. I was also wiondering if your weblog was in a sub-domain or in a folder off the root but that doesn't apear to be it either if your path is like your example. And permissions are probably not a problem if you can download the files - although they are worth checking. Always worth checking of course.

Can't delete counter either. I work with IE 6. When I hit the page refresh button an extra identical counter is added.

OK. the first poster never did come back to me to tell me if he still had the problem (the delete issue) in an alternative browser. Any chance you could tell me this? It would be useful to know. There seem to be a lot of people using this plugin but I suppose it is possible that none of them use IE…
Can I ask why you hit the refresh and what you were doing immediately prior? If the post variables were still set when you refresh it will go through the same actions again - this will happen on any browser form…

I am reporting the same problem, using the same browser. Can't edit and delete links

Well - as you see above, neither of the above people worked with me enough to resolve the problem. So - first question - when you click 'delete', does the little dialog box open at the top asking for confirmation, or does nothing happen at all.
And could you please try this in say Firefox. It really would help if someone with this problem could do that to see if it is browser related or not.

Sorry, I just had the problem, and searched the answer in your forums.
No, the buttons are not activated in IE7, and yes, they are working in Firefox.
Fortunately, I have these two browsers, and I was able to use the options, but it was only after reading this topic.
Before reading, I was about to uninstall this plugin that didn’t work for me
But it’s very usefull !
P.S. You never take holidays ? Every day bring a new feature in Simple Forum.
The new look of your SimpleForum is very nice. I’m in a hurry to download the version 2.

Since this was first reported (and I have to admit that I had forgotten about it) - someone had a similar experience with buttons on Simple Forum not working with IE7.
It is hugely annoying as they are formed using totaly 100% valid code but I guess any version of IE wouldn’t be IE without nasty bugs and problems and incompatibilities!
I will get this fixed but I am afraid it’s not going to be instant. I do want to get V2 of the forum out there first plus I am in the middle of rebullding my whole site.
Actually took three weeks off back in May/Jone and have another coupleof weeks coming up at the end of September. Mid you, if I had known that England was going to be flooded out through June and July I might have taken a world cruise!
