I’m not sure where I’m going wrong here … and maybe I’m assuming that that this will work, when it won’t … LOL

I have created a Page called photos, which is assigned to category Photos. When I write a new post assigned to photos (I’m trying to do a "new photo a day" from a pool of photos), I’m expecting that it will post on the Photos page … but it posts on the default (blog) page instead.

I’m looking at the Page Category Plus screen, and I’ve selected category Photos … and I see page ID 30, Page Title Photos, Page Order 0 and New Page Order 0 … so I’m assuming the link is present.

 What did I miss?

thanks

Well this is nothing to do with the plugin. Basically I think you have not fully understood the concept of WP ‘pages’ - which, because of the way they are named, is quite a common mistake. They are not ‘containers’ for other items (as in ‘web page’).

It is worth reading up on them here in the WP Codex

thanks … I thought (and still think) I understand the difference between "p"ages and "P"ages … but I guess I misunderstood your plugin wherein I took your explanation to mean that anything that was created in the category of "x" would be sent to the "P"age associated with that category.

I was trying to utilize yet another plug-in that posts a Picture-a-Day … but I wanted that posted to a place other than the main/default "P"age.

It will appear in a category ‘archive’ view or - if you like - a ‘page’ of posts in one category. Basically the plugin treats ‘pages’ as if they were ‘posts’. The difference, of coursem is the way they are displayed by default.
