Support Forum : Page Category Plus cannot handle databases with hyphens

I’m trying Page Category Plus 1.1. with WP 2.3.1 german-edition. When choosing the <"Verwalten" (should be something like "Manage" in English) -> Page Category Plus> -options I’m getting the following error message:

WordPress database error:
[You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that
corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use
near '-blog' at line 1]
SHOW TABLES FROM mydatabasename-blog

This seems to be due to the fact that I’m using database-names containing hyphens, which has caused no problems so far with wordpress or any other plugin.

The line of code utilises the DB_NAME constant which is defined in your config.php file. I can see no propblem withn the plugin code whatsoever and as DB_NAME is used all over WP, I am unable to explain the error you are seeing.

Thank you for your answer, Andy. My "config.php" has the following line:

define(’DB_NAME’, ‘mydatabase-blog’);

WordPress: 2.3.1 (de)

PHP: 4.3.10

MySQL: 4.1.10a

I’m getting this error in nine WordPress-Installations which are all hosted at a Virtual Server with SUSE Linux 9.3.

Any more ideas?

Sorry - I can find no answer. Even on the rather old version of MySQL yiuy are using there the SQL is correct as far as my research goes. Sorry.

Does anyone else have any deas?
