URLs and Permalinks with Catergorized Pages via “Page Category Plus”

Hello!

I am wondering if there is a way to make a categorized page part of the post category’s permalink/URL structure.

For example, let’s say that I have a category of posts titled "news" — visiting ‘http://www.mydomain.com/news’ would display the news posts.

But, then I add a page which I’d like to include in the category of "news" and title it "Special News Page"

Currently, I’d visit ‘http://www.mydomain.com/special-news-page’ to get to that page; but, by making it part of that category I’d like it to be available at ‘http://www.mydomain.com/news/special-news-page’

This would help keep other links to the news section working as intended (since if the page is available off the root directory rather than the "news" sub-directory, the auto-generated links mistakenly point to the root directory instead of ‘http://www.mydomain.com/news/postname-filename-whatever’)

Thanks for any & all help!

I'm struggling with same problem. I try to create a multilingual using your plugin, so that each language version is in its own base category with pages and actual posts are in sub-categories like this:

/english/pages

/english/news/

/english/news/posts

/french/pages

/french/news/

/french/news/posts

At the moment the problem is as Copernicus pointed out that all the pages permalinks are equal to root.

Previously I have done this by doing empty language page and category page. The problem there is that pages override category names. So if there is page name english and category name english wp will show u the page. U can use page templates to get around this, but thats no where near a optimal solution and needs a lot of hacking and custom queries.

So any help or advice how to get around this permalink problem would be very helpful.
