I don’t see any place to put this post but I guess this will do. Hands down you are the best plugin maker. I have a request for a new plugin. A calendar Plugin that also allows registered users to post events, displays in the sidebar and also allows comments on events too. Similar to this one http://wpcal.firetree.net/ but my users are too dumb to us it so I need one that’s a little more user friendly. Just an Idea Thanks.

Well it’s good of you to think of me but time is against me at the moment. I am even turning down paid work! But out of curiousity, did you mean that you want users to post calendar events from the ‘front end’ as opposed to from within the admin panels?

Not necessarily from the front end although that would be nice. The plugin I’m currently using requires the user to create the event by creating a post and then setting a few options that are hard to find in the first place. It would be easier if the events could be created from one place whether it’s on the front or back end. And not connected to (at least not that the user is aware of) wordpress’ Post or Page creation system. That way the only options available to them would be for the calendar and nothing else.

It would be a nice project. Sadly if i were to tackle it you’d be waiting quite a while as I am seriously backed up with work at the moment.

cartpauj,
Perhaps you could give this plugin a shot:
http://www.fahlstad.se/wp-plugins/wp-cal/
I have used it successfully before on a site with mutilple users creating events… Events are added from the frontend, not the wp backend.
The plugin author seems to have abandoned all his stuff, but it seems to work okay with wp 2.3.1. Perhaps it will meet your needs.

Mr. Papa, That plugin looked very promising. I’m running WordPress 2.2.1 but when I activated the plugin it seemed to work until I tried to add an event or click Previous/Next Month buttons. It gives me an Error on page icon at the bottom left the Browser. It’s very close to what I’m looking for. If I could just find one that actually worked That would be great. Yellow Swordfish, It’s definatly a great idea for a future project. I understand that you are probably super busy but you do great work, thanks.

Mr. Papa can I E-Mail you the link. It’s a private blog for my family, not visible to anyone. I will have to supply you with a guest username and password. If so what’s your E-Mail address?
