There are lots of different threads surrounding e-mail issues and Simple Forums.
the emails for registered users is not been sent. It correctly shows that an email has been sent, but I’m not receiving the emails.
I can see on the admin site that the registrations are still pending, but the emails are not been received.
For the most part, e-mail (specifically Registration e-mails) are an issue with WordPress and individual situations require individual answers.
While future versions of Simple Forums may address some issues, there are some general fixes that can be integrated now.
GENERAL Mail Issues:
Mail is not being sent.
While this general issue comes from your hosting provider’s security measures. There is a way to test what those measures may be.
The Third Party plugin WP-mail-SMTP allows you to test what e-mail address, PHPmail headers or secure SMTP setup, your hosting provider allows to send e-mail.
This multi-purpose tool is a must have for webmasters using WordPress, not just Simple Forum Users.
Specific E-mail Address
My Host requires a specific from email address to use PHPmail.
This issue is being addressed as we speak as part of other updates to Simple Forums, however there is a working solution available in the Third Party Plugin Mail-From.
I suggest downloading this plugin if your need is immediate, however if you can wait on the next version, this plugin may prove to be redundant and unnecessary when the next SF update comes out.
AutoMagic Registrations.
Is there a way to allow registrations without sending the e-mail confirmation?
Once again there is a third party plugin to solve this issue as well: WordPress-Password-Register.
Although this plugin has not been tested with Simple Forums Update: This plugin has been tested and does work with Simple Forum, and however the insecure method of of allowing registrations without e-mail verification, make this an unlikely addition to Future Versions of Simple Forums, this option is presented in the interests of completeness.
