How to display the fiorum in full screen without sidebar

I would have a rather simple request :

Simple:Press integrates perfectly with WP and this is a fantastic feature. Forum integration (not only user base but also design integration) is great to insure thye forum is a part of the whole weblog, some kind of a “discussion zone”. For this reason I use Simple:Press and I would not use a separate forum script even if it could use WP user database.

This said, for users that are regular users of the forum section of my website, it would be good to be able to display the forum “full screen” instead of in a column beside the two other ones (my WP uses a 3 columns theme).

Do, for those users it would be cool to have a button saying “display the forum full screen” to be able to read it in a more comfortable way.

When displayed in full screen, sidebar would be omitted and the forum will use the whole WP interface width

I suppose this would require a specific “page” (in WP lingo) without the link to sidebar, but I’m not sure of how to implement the whole.

Any idea ?

Luc

it could not be done with a 'button' option that the user could click because this would need to change your theme code and we can not do that. Also - as all themes are different we would never know what needed to be changed.

The only way to do this is to make a permanent change to your theme - which is what I have done on this site.

In my left sidebar in the 'Articles' section is a tutorial on how to do this. 'Creating Custom Page Templates'.

By the way can you NOT copy and paste into this forum from an external editor again. It adds so much garbage to your post and makes it about 4 times the length than is necessary.
