2 Issues: Other way to edit posts and code in posts

I have an issue when someone wants´to display some lines of PHP or HTML code in a post (e.g to show a problem he has or so…). Even if these lines are inside “code” tags it is treated and it behaves like “real code” and it is not displayed.

Is there any chance to define “treat code inside posts like regular text”?

Because of the issue described above a users post killed my layout and the admin tools have vanished somewhere I can´t reach them. Is there any chance to either edit or delete a post without the admin tools in the formu e.g from the admin panel?

The URL is http://www.der-prinz.com/support-forum/?forum=2&topic=36&page=1&post=142#p142

Thanx in advance

Michael

If you use the TinyMCE editor then there is a 'code' button that is specifically for the job. That one works. The one on the QuickTag buttonbar doesn't really do such a good job. it used to but something seems to have gone screwy. I'll look into it.

The problem with long, unbroken lines or erroneous text pushing the width over the right hand boundary is one of the vagaries of HTML sadly. And the only other way to edit is in the database.

Try opening up your skin CSS file and adding this to the:

#sforum .sfposttable td.sfpostcontent {

directive:

overflow: hidden;

That should help althoug it depends what HTML tags it has around it.

Thanx Andy,

thank god the admin tool haven´t gone completely. I “found” them finally ;-)

But is there no chance to edit or delete posts from the (backend) admin panel?

Cheers

Michael

No there isn't. Perhaps that's something we will have to deal with at some stage.

V3 does come with a way of mass removing old, reduandant topics though
