Let me first say that I really love this plugin. I've tried the other WordPress forum plugins and this one is by far the best. A couple things though I'd like to see in upcoming releases. These are really minor but I think they'd help.
- A link to the forum from the 'manage options' panel. I just think it'd be a lot more conveniant if there was a link right there so you could get to the forum quickly after you've updated something.
- Show the number of registered users, and possibly the newest registered user. Most "real" forums have this, and I just think it'd be a nice thing to add.
- A link to the pages of a topic from the forum view. Right now if there is more than one pages to a topic you wouldn't really know it by looking at the title of the topic. Most forums have like a "(1, 2, 3, 4, 5 … Last Page)" link right next to the topic so you can get to different pages easily.

And one more thing, can you add the ability to put images in your siganture?

Do they? I've not really used that many forums! Seems like a nice to have though.
Show the number of registered users
This is, of course , easy to achieve if I just count users. But I am aware the WP is more than this plugin and many sites have registered users for all sorts of things, which would include people who don't use the forum. The other problem of course is that we all suffer from 'spam' registrations. My last three registered users were all spammers.
A link to the forum from the 'manage options' panel
Sure. No problem. I guess I always think most people work like I do with browser tabs and keep the 'admin' and 'site' open at all times.

Good point about showing the number of registered users. It probably isn't a good idea now that I think about it. As far as showing the number of pages go, most any forum that uses Vbulletin, phpBB, SMF, etc etc will have this. http://forums.digitalpoint.com/ for example.

Are polls a possibility in Simple Forum's future?

Oh gosh! This was supposed to be 'simple'
I can take a look to see if I can hook into another 'polls' plugin perhaps - that would be the best way. Any recommendations?

Haha yeah I know, but it's just such a nice plugin I think it deserves some extra functionality. I've never used a poll plugin before but after a quick search these two seem to be the most popular:

If you want to hack in another polls plugin, I would recommend the lesterchan polls…

Here's another idea to throw out there. Can you make it so that the title of the page changes depending on what page in the forum you're in? For example, right now your forum says "Yellow Swordfish » Support Forum" no matter which page you're on. But for this page it should say "A couple suggestions (minor) - Support Forum" or something along those lines.

I'll take a look at and give some thought to supporting a poll plugin after 1,9 is out.
Plus your heading suggestion that could be quite nice couldn't it?
