I hate to be a touble but I'm having problems adding a new topic in IE (6.0).
I have the group & forum created in the admin panel, I then go to add a topic through the forum interface, the box to add the new topic opens, but then the page reloads to the forum view. I've tried this in IE 6.0 and Maxthon 1.5.9 (which is just like IE) and the page reloads.
I tried in Firefox (1.5) and it works just fine.
I know a typical response would be get rid of IE, but the fact of life is that many people use IE and I want everybody to be able to use the forum.

Well while I realise that a proper and good and helpful response is 'get rid of IE' it wasn't what I would have said. Anyway - I'd go further and say get rid of Windows as well and get a Mac!
I'm troubled by your problem because I can't replicate it here on IE6 or on IE7 - plus it hasn't been reported by anyone else. Which suggests a local problem. And I'd make a guess that it might be Javascript related. At least that would be the first place I'd start looking only sadly, I can't. Do you know if you have any other javascript that might be clashing here? Maybe through another plugin perhaps.
It might also be worth turning off the Rich Text Editor and seeing if the problem persists in the Quicktags editor - while that too uses Javascript it is not so complex.
It mght be difficult but turning off other plugns one at a time might identfy the cause. And for what it;s worth - it defintely doesn't work with the Google Analyticor (?) plugin.

Well grr… found the culprit… guess I jumped the gun too soon ^_^;;
It was FireStats plugin/widget.
http://firestats.cc/
Well hopefully this might help somebody else too.
Thanks for being patient with me.

Gosh. Is it just the widget? I do hope it's not the actual Firestats plugin itself.
And thanks for letting me know as well of course.

It might be worth having a word with Omry though all the same. We might be able to solve the clash.

Ok, now I feel really stupid x_x;
It is NOT Firestats widget, so we don't have to bother Omry x_x;
Let me give you a little background… I was using the Kings Pages widget that also works with Fold Page List plugin but everytime I would change something on my widgets the Fold Page List option would turn off. So when I removed the Firestats widget the fold page list option turned off in Kings Pages widget so the forum would work. But then when I went back in to turn the Fold Page List on the page would reload in IE when trying to add a topic.
Right now I'm trying to determine if it's the Fold Page List plugin itself or when in conjunction with the Kings Pages widget.
Ok, it seems to be the Fold Page List plugin, I deactivated all my widgets (turned off sidebar widgets) and have just the Fold Page List plugin and it's doing the refresh thing x_x darn it!
I really love the forum plugin but I really need that Fold Page List plugin, we're going to be posting a lot of stories and don't want it to clutter up the sidebar.
Thanks for all your help and your patience with me.

No - it's good to get to the bottom of it and extremely helpful thanks.
I am not familiar with that plugin. If you could give me a link i could take a look to see if I can locate the conflict or at least talk to the author about it.

Hope it works out, you've got such a nice forum plugin.

Well I just downloaded and installed the plugin and while I admittedly just used the basic call with no parameters, it caused me no problem in Windows/IE at all. Plus a quick and basic trawl through the code didn't show up anything that is likely to effect page content.
I don't see it…! Are you 100% on this being the culprit?
