Support Forum : Allowing avatars to be used on main WP profile page

Hello,

First off, I just wanted to say that I love your forum. You have done a fabulous job!

I am using WP 2.1.2, and have been umming and ahhing about which avatar plugin to use for my users. Now that I am using your Simple Forums, it would be nice to use the same avatar system that you use. Perhaps I have missed something, but, is there a plugin to allow my users to manage their Simple Forum avatars from the main WP profile page?

I am somewhat of a PHP programmer and would not mind helping get this idea going if nothing like it exists already.

No there is no tie back to WP but feel free to have a poke around and a play.

However, 1.9 due any day now, does support Gravatars from gravatar.com and I have included support for the Gravatar2 plugin which does a great job of cacheing them locally after download. At the same time I am leaving the local upload as an optional way of getting the best of both worlds - i.e., you still get an avatar when gravatar.com is off-line or too busy… which seems to happen often.

Anyway if you wanted to extend this to use the WP profile page instead of the forum profile page there is probably a WP hook that would alow you to fo that (although I haven't looked). Go for it!
