Hello Andy, your forum looks very good, (thx for this great plugin) but after installing it on my server, i went to manage/simple forums and tried to click on manage options and nothing happens. I am using IE 6 and WP 2.0.6.
I can click on manage options with Firefox(V 1.5.9)
Regards
Frank

Hi Frank
Someone else reported this problem just the night before and they said they would run a small test for me but just never came back with the answer! I can now run that test myself so I’ll set it up and get back to you but I think I know the cause… Some time today…

I have trawled the HTML specs and talked to a couple of knowledgeable people and we all agree that the way I have coded it should work just fine. It seems to work in all browsers but, of course - and as usual - IE. Anyway - I do have a not inelegant workaround!
Sadly today is already accounted for but I rather think I can spend tomorrow doing the updates and realeasing it. Thanks.

Hi Andy
I was just trying out your forum plugin (excellent work btw!) and I ran across the same problem.
After a bit of looking at the code, it seems that IE6 doesn’t seem to like the submit type of input inside the anchor tag.
I found a quick fix was to alter the code in sf-adminforms.php to use only anchor tags (just stripping the input tags from the code), and prettifying the results somewhat by adding the ‘edit’ and ‘delete’ classes to the anchors as used in the post/page/category management page of the core.
Not particularly elegant, but it gets things up and running for IE6 users.

You are quite right. I have already updated all the source code and will be releasing it later today. I’m just putting in one or two small feature requests while I have it all open. I have not found any other browser that doesn’t work except IE6 and IE7 and I beieve they are incorrect not to work. As far as I can ascertain a ‘button’ element (which IE refuses as well) is quite legitimate within an inline element including an anchor.
Anyway - there you go. I’m used to havng to alter stuff for IE! Few more hours and I’ll get it published.
Thanks for the input and the kind words.
