Hello,
I Simple plug forum for WordPress 2.3 is now trying to install all the files are uploaded. Only I can not activate the plug. It is always the following error message:
The plug can not be activated because it is a fatal error.

ich das Simple Forum Plug für Wordpress 2.3 versucht zu installieren nun die dateien sind alle hochgeladen. Nur ich kann das Plugin nicht aktivieren. Es kommt immer folgende fehlermeldung:
Das Plugin kann nicht aktiviert werden, da es einen fatalen Fehler erzeugt.
Bitte um Hilfe

One idea. Have you put the 'simple-forum' folder directly into the 'plugins' folder?

Then assuming everything is in the right place and none of the files are corrupted etc., it is virtually certain it's going to be down to a conflict with another plugin but I have no idea which of course.

I really do not know if any of them can cause this problem. But it is going to be a code conflict of some time. All I can realy suggest is deactvating other plugins one at a time briefly) and then trying the forum activation again. And- yes - I assume also you are using a WP system newer than 2.04

I deactivating all plugins and no the plugin can not activatet - and yes i have wp 2.3.3

In that case, unless anyone else has any ideas, I am afraid I have no answer. WordPress displays a most unhelpful message in these circumstances so it is impossible to know what may have caused it. Needless to say it is not a common problem and wil come down to something environmental to your setup. Sorry.

You are probaly like me and spent hours trying to get bbpres to integrate, I had the same problem activating this plugin till I dropped the bbpress tables from the database.
It activates, I have not used the new forum yet, however it activated.

I thought it was strange also, however I kindof fluked into the solution, I noticed it was an immediate fatal error, in looking at the install script I noticed it was creating database tables first and since I'm on a cheap host and have only one database I thought perhaps it was trying to create another database, so I looked at the mysql and noticed the BB tables and since I had given up on trying to integrate that with WP I deleted the tables and tried to activate again and it worked.
By the way thanks it looks and works great.
