I have installed and setup the forum and love it. I have a problem though. I have wordpress setup to allow anyone to register, but the register strip doesn’t display at all at the top of the forum. Any ideas?

Gosh. No. It’s hard to see any scenario where it wouldn’t show. How peculiar.

Any chance of a link to your forum page so I can take a look and a poke around in the HTML and CSS?

Well - when I went to the link (and of course I am not a member) the stip IS there. Any chance of an account so I can look at it from a members point of view.

I’ll send you an email…

Very strange. I’ve tried everything. Logging out, clearing browser cache etc and it never shows for me!

Hi Andy, I got your email but I don’t think I was clear. The strip is there, but there are no buttons on the right. ie login, logout etc.

When I view it as admin, my profile button is there but that’s all.

Consider yourself slapped!

The option to turn off the Login/Logout buttons was a request by several users. Some have login and logout buttons already (say in their sidebar) and, understandably, preferred not to have the duplication.

Yes, I understand the need for that. It’s a great little plugin, keep up the good work.

A nice feature would be to be able to add a global announcement to all forums at once. Like for forum rules and guidelines, then make it sticky at the top.

I could do with something that automatically corrects my typo’s! That was, of course, ‘mull’ it over!

I am having the same problem. In your response to the user, you mentioned that he needed to do something in the options setting. But you didn’t mention what exactly that is. (I think you outlined it in an email.) Could you please clarify what change needs to be made. Many thanks!

I just installed SF 2.1. I have WordPress set up to not allow registrations because it is a church blog with just some users having the ability to post a blog entry. I would like to be able to have those already registered users be able to login to SF, but the login button is not there. One strange thing that happened was when I enabled user registrations in WP and SF, then disabled it in WP, the login button shows up (and logout, etc.). However, as soon as someone logged into WP through its login screen, the SF login/logout buttons disappear.

Any way to allow the login/logout button but without allowing registrations? I want to register people myself and not open it up to all.

I think the only way is going to be not to use the login/logout buttons the forum provides but use the standard WP login form. The forum is intimately tied with the settings in WP…
