Hi folks,

I want to hide the url und email options in the user-profil. The admin should see it, but users not. The reason ist, that I - the admin - need this option for own stuff.

Yesterday I found the file, which must be edited. Is the following code correct?

I am curious as to why you do not want a registered user to see their own email address and url? of course - do as you wish but as they already know their own email address - and as this gives them a place to change it should they need to do so - it seems odd that you want to hide it from them.

If you are under the impression that a user can see others peoples email address then  this is not the case.

Hi Andy,

the email-adress ist not the problem, but the url I need for own reasons. I want to make a own user-profil, which can’t be edited by the user himself. This user-profil will be linked with every post, the user made. If I do not hide the url, the user can edit the url and my own profile-function won’t work longer.

Can you give me an idea, how hiding the url in the profile is possible? In the regular wordpress profile it is very simple to hide the url for users.

Find the function sf_profile()  in the sf-forms.php file - find the url field and turn it from type ‘text’ to type ‘hidden’. Remove the associated label.

Hi Andy,

what do you mean with "Remove the associated label? Should I delete the complete lines (url) which I posted in the pic above, within the $out?

Sorry for my questions, but I’m not so good in php.Smile

It is all on one line of code, sf-forums.php, function sfprofile, line number 390 (on a 2.1 opatch 3 code). Line begins…

$out.=’<p>’.__("Website URL", "sforum").’:</p><input type="text"… etc.

Just comment out the one line.
