I'm using Maxthon2 and also Internet Explorer 6 and the buttons to Register or for Lost Password? don't work.  I thought it was just on my site but I tried them here and they didn't work either: http://www.stuff.yellowswordfish.com/support-forum?&action=login

Anyone else have this problem?

P.S. Andy - your "Yellow Swordfish is currently" section on the left doesn't appear correct.  I think the content text is in white as I can only see it when I highlight the text with my mouse.

I'm going to show my ignorance now and say I don't know what Maxthon2 is…. although Internet Explorer 6 sounds depressingly familiar…Smile Do they work if you use a different browser or can't you do this with Maxthon2. I ask this purely as an exercise in elimination…

Yes my text on the left is white but it supposed to appear in a red box….???

Maxthon (http://www.maxthon.com).  It used to be MyIE2 (http://www.myie2.com/html_en/home.htm).  I think it was an hack or based on the core of IE but it evolved into it's own thing.  It's like the #1 browser in China and Google invested some cash in it's development.

Anyways… the text does show and the buttons do work in Firefox.  I really don't know why IE sucks soo bad - haha!  But I'm designing a site for a 95% IE user base, so it's important.  =(

Nobody has ever said they don't work in IE6 before so this comes as a bit of a surprise. There WAS a problem back in version 1.0 with the buttons in the admin pages but nowhere else.

Is anyone else seeing this problem (if anyoen comes and reads this!)

Sadly, I am on vacation at the moment and whereas I might be able to test the odd thig I can do nothing for IE as I am jusing a Mac. I DO have IE running under parallels but is is tied to my home network and just falls over on a hotel wifi hotspot!

I have installed simple forum all seems to be working well with the exeption of the registration. It allows the registration but you never receive an e-mail with the password.

Any help here would be appreciated.

I can assure you it works as I get all the registration emails I can cope with! I dont kn ow the answer but two things to check - are you email settings correctly set up in WordPress? And - is your host stopping the ermails being sent? I donlt really know how this works but I have been told that some may do this.

if you give me a link to your forum page I will try and register and see if they come to mer.

Hi! I use Firefox, but 80% of my users use IE 6.

They (and I tried on my computer) are unable to use the button “login” nor “new post”.

I am a new user of very simple: Press Forum, and not much English, sorry, this is a auttomatic traslation.

Bye! And I expect an answer, thanks:)

Well obviously if these didn't work in IE nobody would be able to use the plugin.

I suspect you have a problem somewhere with javascript. There will be a conflict between the forum JS and, probably, another plugin.

You need to deactivate all other plugins, try the forum to see if it now works (don't forget to empty the cache first) and then reactvate plugins one at a time to find the culprit.

Thank you for your reply.

But where is the forum, is a clean page, only the forum. There is no other plug-in this or that javascript that section.

You can see what I say, please conect with IE 6 is posible: http://www.ingresomedicina.com.ar/foro there is only the forum, without another gadget. My page, in spanish languaje, sorry.

I can not make it work.
It would have opportunity to make it work.

The Record button if you work, not of loguin. It is rare!

I give the same answer I gave in post 8 above. It is almost certainly a javascript conflict with another plugin. Other javascript being loaded on the forum page include:

  • the 'Democracy' plugin
  • the 'WordSpew' plugin
  • the 'xmasb-qiotes' plugin

There are also several bits of 'in-line' javascript from other plugins that I am unable to identify.

I'm sorry but the register button DOES work on this site. If it is not working for you I would suggest your browser is perhaps having a problem…
