I want to change the forum so that visitor only have to give their name and email to post, but I can’t figure it out. Currently they have to give their URL too. I don’t want that field.

Thanks!

I’m not sure what you are looking at but there is no requiurement for a visitor to give a URL to be able to post. There is no requirement for a registered member to give a URL either..?

Ah - I see your problem. That is actually a hidden field but you need to use a ’skin’ so that the forum gets formatted correctly. when you do that the field will disappear and it is NOT required. In fact, if you put anything in that field the post will fail.

Ok, I had a skin. It was the moonsbynight one. I put on a different skin and it was fixed, I think. Maybe that skin doesn’t work?

More likely you had it installed into the wrong folder. The ‘moonsbynight’ skin folder has to be immediatly under the ’skins’ folder.

That is where I had it. Could it be that it isn’t compatible with my theme, maybe? I downloaded it again and I still couldn’t get it to work.

Moonsbynight comes with it’s own icon set. The folders are buried deeper. Check the path of the folder and you will see that they contain inner folders that are actually the ones you need to use.
