 It is definitely not sorted by Last POst date, neither by Started, so what is the sort order :-) ?

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I really can't see the sort logic her Undecided

I took my cue here from most other forums that I use or visit. Most recent topic always goes to the top although always underneath 'pinned' topics.
