in an email, whilst recuperating in the hospital, I was advised that a new v2.6 WPMU core had been released.

apparently my complaints over the 1.5.1 release had been heard loud and clear, because the email sender was doncha, himself.

so i prop my self up at the laptop, in bed, bemoaning the incision in my chest from my heart surgery, and set about upgrading one of my sites to wpmu 2.6

backups in place, files and databases, plugins and wpmu-plugins moved to
'disabled' folders and the process begins.

first thing, there is the new (in v1.5.1) random seed for cookies and passwords, simple update to the wp-config.php… moving on…

hmm… database update was fast…

activating plugins… a few 1.3.3 specific plugins obviously not compatible… didn't even try… pleasantly however, the rest seemed to slide into the upgrade nicely compatible.

xmlrpc tools working this time around…

last one: SPF - Simple Press:Forum… click… and woohoo! SUCCESS!

Navigation working well… new features seem faster… connection to the google objects turbo feature doing wonderful things…

and it all seems so smooth…

NOW I have something to work with!!!

WPMU v2.6 seems to agree with most plugins and SPF is no exception.

Things have been running smoothly for a bit more than 5 days and no errors or anomalies to report so far.

I should be home from the hospital soon, and i expect that my sites will still be working with few to no errors for my time off. SPF seems to run natively with 2.6 with no difference with WP OR WPMU.
