Update: I have recreated my avatar to be square 50×50 and it uploads. If I set the width not to exceed let's say 70, why must the height be exactly 70? Most users will not get that. They will for sure all want to upload 70×80 or some variation of a jpg. They are not graphic designers.

Original:  In my wp folder structure (hosted at GoDaddy) I have wp-content/forum-avatars with the three default png files located in that folder. I have no idea as to how to set a folder permission at GoDaddy. Also, I find that I cannot upload my avatars into this simplepress site forum as well. The avatar is a png file created in LightWave.

I have read the documentation in the on-line section. Any ideas or clear direction will be greatly appreciated.

which version of spf are you running?  I thought we removed the square size constraint in version 3.1…

okay, yes, thats the latest…  I thought we had gotten rid of squaring and auto sizing of the avatars in the 3.1 version so I willl go off and investigate further…  please be aware that Andy is on vacation and I am now on vacation, so it is likely to take several days until we get to looking at this, but I have opened a ticket for investigation…

I have just re-tested and it all works fine for me. As long as neither width or height exceed the set maximum I can upload and display just fine.
