Can the RSS feed be disabled on a group or forum?
I have a moderators group, with appropriate forums, and permissions set for only moderator access, works great.. However I noticed the posts from here go into the RSS Feeds. I can't seem to find a way to disable this, without disabling RSS feeds alltogether?
Thx
Kevin

no, not currently… we have been researching possible implementations of private rss feeds but dont have a solution yet… our fallback position is to do as you say, turn off RSS feeds for specific forums…

In theory, of course, only the members who have access to a specific group and/or specific forums will ever be able to click on the RSS feed for that item. The only loophole here is when one of those members leaves (or is kicked off) and wil lstill be able to access the feed. Other than that however, it is pretty safe.

Thats true, but even a visitor can click on the All RSS Feed button (at least I was able to when not logged in)… I guess, I would be fine to enable the rest of the RSS Feeds, and disable the All RSS Feeds button, I think I saw that option…. It would be great to be able to not have private forums post to all RSS… Please keep it mind for future releases…
Thx
Kevin
On Edit:
Apparently disabling (or unchecking the button text) for All RSS Feeds did not work for me, the button remained visable for some reason… So I guess my only option would be to disable RSS feeds entirely…

Good point - had overlooked 'All'.
Disabling the button text does not remove the icon - just removes the text itself. It is for use by folks who use graphic buttons instead of textual links.

only issue there is the definition of private… we cant really determine what permissions mean private - its open to interprestation…
so think the method will be to allow admins to selectively disable individual feeds for a forum…

Yes, IMO being able to disable RSS feed by Group and/or Forum would be ideal….. By the way, this is a fantastic plugin to Wordpress… Will definately be donating to the cause!
Thanks for your efforts!

Just a heads up, but this will not make the upcoming bug fix release 3.1.3… One of our goals for this release was no database changes and no localization changes (we keep stressing the translators)… this change will require database changes and thus will be in the 3.2 release…
