When using the wp-admin?=register function - I get this after submitting:

Fatal error: Cannot use object of type WP_Error as array in /16sector.com/wp-content/plugins/simple-forum/sf-filters.php on line 134

Simple:Press Forum - Version 3.0.3 (Build 320)

I know there are changes to this in 2.5 but I am totally unable to reproduce this - either with or without an actual error condition. This leads to the usual and first question - do you have any other plugins installed that may or do perform any function around the acrt of registering or logging in?

[You registered here without incident I assume so we are more likely looking for something local to your setup]

Hmmm.. I integrated BBPress before finding and settling on Simple:Press (much better) ..

What I have installed- Akismet, AskApache PW Protect, Ultimate GA, WP-Ban, WP-Serverinfo, WP-Sticky and WP shopping cart.

…and I just tried it again, and it seems to work now. Maybe it had a bug up it's arse.

I have set WP-Ban to ban 1.1.1.1-254.254.254.254 and excluded my own and a few other IP's - yet it seemed to all of a sudden let people in anyway as I found a registration in my inbox just now, too.

…yeah, that registration kinda surprised me. I called it a night when I saw the error. I didn't explicitly post the URL to the site 'cause it wouldn't have mattered, well, it wasn't supposed to have .. 'cause I had as I said, “banned” the whole internet.. using WP-Ban, though the URL was evident in the error message I posted. I guess WP-Ban decided to go into la-la land. Wink

I was more so hoping that it had been something someone had seen before, even though searching for it as best I could yielded me no results. Then it seems it must have just been having a bad moment. 'cause I also have since registered for it.

Weird.

the site is for selling some Apple II hardware, that I designed ages ago and am bringing back again. It had been blocked by using specific code in the index.php, but then I tried to use the WP-Ban plugin for that and it was working at one point as I had some folks testing it.

…now if I can push myself to fully understand the voodoo that are permalinks and SEO friendly URLs w/o busting the site to bits..

Thanks :)

I'm having the same issue. It occurs if an incorrect sum is entered during registration. But if the correct sum is entered, registration proceeds without incident.

It's not the end of the world, as most users should know basic addition… but if they make a typo, the php error page will definitly confuse them!

I have logged the error and hopefully one day I will be able to replicate it!

I can probably get around that actually as the error message os pretty explicit.

Would you be willing to let me know what plugins you have installed? It might be a great help…

Sure, here are my plugins:

BM Custom Login
Favicon Manager
Filosofo Remove Dashboard
From Where You Came
Leopard Admin
Lightbox Gallery
Official StatCounter Plugin

But I just realized I have something in common with tdiaz (besides the error). I too installed BBPress before deciding SF was the better option. Who knows what kind of changes it made to my WP install…

Thanks. I'll try nstalling a few (especially bbPress) and see if that is what rocks the boat. Grateful for the list.

Just a wild guess - but at least previous versions of Leopard admin made some trouble for me. (Admin dropdown menus is an alternative)
But of course you've tried deactivating all plugins and the reactivating them one at a time?

I can add a new site that has the exact same problem:

http://www.fantasyfootballxtreme.com

I don't know if we installed BBPress in the past, but we did have a different Forum up once upon a time, but that was a LONG time ago, several Word Press versions past.  The plug in is no longer there, either.

It's a strange one - I have still been unable to replicate even on one site where they had the problem!

I have the same problem here with the 134 line. Actually I was writing a new post but then I saw this post here :>

When a user tries to register using the WP registration form and deliberately enters wrong e-mail or password he gets a white page saying:

Fatal error: Cannot use object of type WP_Error as array in /home/pol10001/public_html/wp-content/plugins/simple-forum/sf-filters.php on line 134

Should not a warning be displayed that he has used a wrong pass? > This is what I wanted to ask and then I saw this post.

I use two plug-ins that could/may interfere with the registration - Register Plus and BM Custom Login. Will try to turn them off/on.  Hope this will help you.

PS1: I am using WP2.5

PS2: Forum works grate.

PS3: I have noticed that the WP registration does allow users to use the forum/website etc. without e-mail confirmation. On the other hand, when you use Simple Forum registration an e-mail is sent to you.
