I have a blog in Italian (www.scinico.org). I just installed Simple:Press forum over the weekend (version 3.1.4). I would like to have the forum text in Italian. In the plugin folder, under the Language subfolder, I found the sforum-en_EN.po text file. I copied it and renamed it sforum-it_IT.po and started translating all the msgid text within the quotation marks into Italian.

Is that the proper way to do it? If so, how do I tell Simple Forum to use that language file instead of the English one? If that is not the correct way to do it, what is?

There already exists an Italian translation.

Click on the Simple:Press Forum link on my left sidebar and then on the languages link. Dopwnload the Italian MO file and follow the instructions in the forums 'online help - how to' section.
