Support Forum : Go to Forum - 404 - url /blog/forum not found

Dear Forum - I am going spare here as I've now installed this 3 times and I'm getting no closer to a result which is no doubt very easy if you know how!

I have the message:

“The requested URL /blog/forum/ was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Apache/2.2.8 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.8 OpenSSL/0.9.8b DAV/2 mod_auth_passthrough/2.1 mod_bwlimited/1.4 FrontPage/5.0.2.2635 PHP/5.2.6 Server at myfriendshotel.com Port 80″
Now, the folder >blog/forum does exist - I don't know where it came from or what is in it and I don't know why it's not working….please help!?
(The install 3.1.4 works fine on WordPress 2.6 so it seems to be a FTP related issue).
Also - I had the Forum almost working before but there we no style templates…and I ahve no avetars)

so, after activating the plugin, did you do the install in the admin?

could you provide a link to your site so we can take a look?

We don't create any folders called 'blog/forum'. Are you sure you have located this in the right place ('plugins/simpleforum') and that you have copied ALL the files to your server?

Thanks very much for getting back to me so promptly!

Ok - the site is: http://www.myfriendshotel.com/blog

There is a Forum button on the blog (column 1 - on the right) and it links to a Forum which is a nice surprise! (SimpleForum - I guess, but it doesn't look like this?). I've not worked out how it works though.

In the Forum there is a Home > Forum button or Inbox and if you click on these then there's a problem - the same problem I encounter from the Wordpress Admin side…

I've re-installed everything again - all files are in the right place ('plugins/simpleforum') and I've copied all of the files from the .zip download.

(as an aside - The avetars files is in 'SF>Forums>Avatars>sf-avetars.php' - there are not the 3 avatars mentioned in the Install / Upgrade info…)

Is the problem Database related or it the 'system' looking for the wrong route? If so, how can I point it somewhere else?

Well at the moment, visiting your site, I don't see anything wrong. You have not created any forums yet so there is nothing to see and nowhere to go and as a guest I don't see the 'Inbox'. So I am still really unsure what the problem is. Certanlky all links available on a forum with no forums defined are wokring for me….

agree… the forum on that site works fine for me…  of course, as Andy says, you need to define some groups and forums…
