In firefox 3.01 using mandigo theme, the icons are out of place and there's a light blue rectangle above the forum content. I'm assuming some sort of css issue. It looks okay in IE because it seems the icons aren't showing up. I've used a new page template as you described.

looks to me to be the often talked about plugin conflict where a plugin is converting \n chars to <br /> due to early bug in wp 2.5 that has since been fixed but some plugins havent updated…
Are you by chance using Contact Form 7?

Thanks for replying. No, but there are lots of plugins installed (via extrememember.com). Are there any workarounds - for example put the forum on it's own page without other plugins affecting the page, etc?

no, unfortunately too many plugins load all their stuff on every page…
best to troubleshoot the conflict and then we can see what we can do… you will need to disable all your plugins except for simple:press forum… then see if it works… if not, please report back…
If it does work, then start reactivating your plugins one by one and checking to see if the forum breaks… when it breaks we have our conflict… note, you may need to clear your browser cache after each plugin activation to ensure you see the latest…

it might also help if you defined some groups and forums so we can see more of whats going on… which in itself is interesting since the link you posted tries to go to a forum…

I created a group and put four forums in it. The link I gave was for a specific forum in the group. Not sure what you're getting at…let me know if you need more info.
I will try to disable plugins - this functionality is being offered by a 3rd party so I will check with them.
