In the “Manage User Groups” area of the administration panel, exactly how does this function work? I have members signed up, but when I click on “Show Members,” there are no members that appear. The spinner icon just spins and spins, and no members ever show. My default signup permission for new members is “Members.” Both the “Guest”, “Members”, and “Moderators” row show two lock icons. Am I missing a setting somewhere? How do these correlate with the roles in the “Manage Users” area of WordPress, or is their no relation?

there is no relation to manage users and roles in WP to the forum permissions… by default, you have three user groups defined (guests, members and moderators)… the lock key just indicates you can no edit/delete the user group info… on the same page, you have the ability to add new user groups if you desire…
when you installed the spf plugin, all your existing users should have been added to the members user group… would be odd if that did not happen… still, you can manually add users… further to the right of the show members (below the lock) should be add and delete members buttons… you can add/delete your users using these buttons..
user groups, combined with permission sets determine the permissions that folks have in using your forum installation…

Ok, thanks much for the clarification. For some reason, now the members are showing up … maybe it was a cache issue. Maybe I need better glasses? So far so good. I'm migrating from Phorum and having to add existing users manually, fortunately there are not too many at the moment. Have to figure out a way to get the posts imported as well, although that might have to be a manual job as well.

yeah, probably manual if you already moved the users over… but thats the hard part… the spf database structure, I believe, is pretty simple to follow….. good luck! glad the users sorted themselves out…
