Dear Yellow Sword Fish.

I finally managed to install, make the forum work and set the options.

I was wondering if the ADD ON that allows memeber to exchange messages, also allows me to send mass Email or Newsletter as the Administrator.

Please advice.

Regards.

The latest Simple:Press Forum 3.1.3 release does include a Private Messaging (PM) feature…  and yes, as admin, there is a feature that allows you to send a PM to all users…  since you also have the ability as admin to determine if PMs generate emails or not, it is possible to do what you are asking…

not sure I follow the question…  but will try… on the front end, any page where the forum is display on your blog, you should see a link to your inbox (as well as your current unread PM count)…  go to your inbox and you can also send PMs…

I will also add that users will need to be in a user group with PM permissions in order to send/receive PMs…  you set user group memberships and permssions in the admin panels…

Dear Mr papa.

As you say here “since you also have the ability as admin to determine if PMs generate emails or not”

I've tried to send a ALL Members messages and, instead of the message written in the email received, i just get a notification with a link to the forum.

Is it possible to write a ALL MEMBERS message from the forum which will be sent as an HTML email?

Thanks again for your help

No - it only sends the notification and link. We will not be adding a complete email 'news letter' style option as tis isn't really forum related. I believe there are other plugins out that may do this - I'd take a look at the WP site.
