In the last day or so, probably as I troubleshooted another problem, the “Most Recent Posts” at the top of the main forum page now sorts the posts oddly. Instead of sorting them by the Last Post column, like it used to, it now seems to be sorting them by…I don't know. I'm not sure how it's sorting them. It's also not sorting them by the Started date.
The forum is here:

They are sorted within forums

Is that new? I don't remember that they used to sort that way. Is there a way to make them *not* sort by forums? It reduced the utility of “most recent posts” if the most recent posts are not, in fact, at the top of the list.

I don't think it's new. I know I should know but you get used to stuff being done like that without changing it.
I guess we could create an option whicb would be the only way to offer choice. I can add that to the plans.

Andy,
I support the suggestion hereabove. I doubt that we need a choice here. Isn't it obvious that “most recent posts” should be the most recent posts sorted in chronological order (according to the last post column) ?

I should have asked if there is a way to solve this by patching some plugin files. Thanks.

try commenting out line 761 in sf-page.php and see if that gives you the desired sorting…

What’s the line number in version 3.1.3 of Simple Forum to fix this? Can you also tell me the code that is there?

Never mind: it’s line 770. I didn’t have an old version of the forum software, but I found it on Trac.
