Hi all!

I've just upgraded from SPF 3.0.3 to SP 3.1.1 and I've discovered that square brackets are gone
in my topic titles. However when I'm trying to edit a title these characters show up.

On this screenshot you can see no square brackets:
http://i.piccy.kiev.ua/i2/47/a6/6d22a414f40975e2439f3c8746ce.gif

Then when I click edit, the edit field contains square brackets:

I understand this isn't the most important issue at the moment however I'd be glad if someone could help me!

(I chasnged the title of the thread as, of course, the brackets were stripped out)

We filtered them out because they actually cause some serious damage to the display. This looks like it is an inconvenience to you and I apologise for that. I rather think that we have to stick with this but you can alter your own system with a one line code edit if you wish:

File sf-control.php around line 119:

add_filter('sf_show_topic_title', 'sf_filter_square_brackets');

you can comment out that line (easest way is to put a hash synbol in front of it (#)

However, if you encounter a 'topic view (posts)' that displays as what I can only describe as a complete mess, this will be the reason. I will look into an alternative method rather that the hammer technique!

Thank you!
I've commeted this line out and everything looks OK.
Topic titles are showing up and my template looks fine. No mess.
However when I try to create/edit topic, square brackets in topic titles simply won't save.

Perhaps I need to comment out another few lines :) ?

You got it. Sorry I missed it. I've only just got out of bed and can still taste the toothpaste!

I think I can resolve this in the next update. It was a bit of a panic fix that one.

Sorry for the inconvenience.
