Hello,

I just upgraded from 3.1 to 3.1.1 (new files only + automatic upgrade in the admin panel) and now I have the error : WordPress database error: [Table 'xxxxx.wp_sfmembers' doesn't exist]

“wp_sfmembers” is missing and my forum is now unavailable : http://www.parisgolo.com/?page_id=41

Could you please tell me how to create this table manually in my DB ?

Thks,
Wistiti

It's not just a matter of creating the table it will also need populating.

What I find curious is that the script for creating this table is in 3.1 yet you say you only have the problem in 3.1.1. The problem would have been there in 3.1

So before I can advise on the best way of fixing this - and it can be fixed - I really need confrmation of what you did. For example, if you updated a 3.0.3 system up to 3.1.1 using the changed files and then went back and installed the full 3.1.1 over the top then there is more to be done to fix problems. And that is rather important.

Thanks for your fast answer Yellow !

I confirm I was on a 3.1 version so I really don't understand why I don't have that table.

Actions I did was :
1/ dl the 3.1.1 new files only and replace the old one (3.1) with it
2/ go on my admin interface and activate the “upgrade”
3/ I saw the error  WordPress database error: [Table 'xxxxx.wp_sfmembers' doesn't exist]
4/ I decided to remove all my SF files and replaced it by the complete 3.1.1 SF files I found on your site
5/ I still have the error and no possibility to re-run the upgrade

I think I have to run again the script that create and populate that table.
Could you please help me ?

Simple:Press Forum maintans a vlaue in the WP options table that tells it what version and build is being run. This is how it recognises and upgrade because the build number (and maybe version number) of the new code is not the same as that maintained in the database.

So… to be able to re-run the upgrade (or a part of the upgrade), you need to trick the system be setting the stored build number back tio a oprevious value.

So in this case you need to open the WP Optiions table and find the key value 'sfbuild'. It shoud be set to 336. You need to change that and set it to 323.

Save that value, go to your admin pages. Laod a nonforum page (i.e., dashboard) and then run the upgrade from the forum menu.

And if you get any errors displayed, note them and let me know.

My forum : http://www.parisgolo.com/?page_id=41

Done - it's solved the table missing issue and created a new issue : my topics and posts (that are still in my db) are not recognised any more.

Any idea ?

That's not really true is it? You are missing other database changes and I still think you upgraded from 3.0.3 using the 3.1 to 3.1.1 changed files upgrade. This is the only explanation I can see that makes any sense.

The best advice for that is to restore the backup you made before you made any upgrades so I am hoping you made one.

Failing that you can try setting the 'sfbuild' value to 320 which will try and perform the full 3.1 upgrade but that might screw up other stuff at this stage. They are about the only options.

No backup unfortunatly.

Anyway i'll restart from the beginning.
I made a DB backup and I deleted all SF tables in my DB, and removed all the plugin files to re-install it as a new Forum.
I dl the 3.1.1 version and uploaded it on my http://FTP. I activated the plugin and went to the forum tab to install it.

It doesn't work. There is always my preferences saved somewhere in my DB and I can't re-install the forum.

Could you please tell me what I need to delete in order to re-install my Forum ?

Best way is to read the on-line help topic 'How to Complete Remove'. It is a just a simple check box setting.
