Two (hopefully small) problems

I'm back! :-)

I have two small problems. First: the ordered list (the one with the numbers) don't work. While writing the message it seems to work, but as soon as you saved the post, the numbers/ordered list is gone.

Problem nr 2:

When a user uses a screen resolution of 1024×768 or less, the box in which you write your message doesn't stay within the layout of the site. It happens both when replying to a topic and when you start a new topic. Every other bit of the forum nicely fits to the css/layout of the site/theme.

Hopefully you have the solutions.

I assume you are jusing the TinyMCE editor. So let's try

  1. creating
  2. a
  3. numbered
  4. list

and I'll see what happened there when I save this post! If it is still numbered then I wouold suggest you may well have another plugin that is, perhaps, running some sort of filter affecting the content of the post.

As for your second point 0 there should be a little 'grab handle' in the bottom right hand corner of the editor window. Click and hold that and drag it into the confines of your available space.

Ok, so the numbered list is working so it must be a problem caused by anything else on my site. I'll look into that later.

But…you're solution for the second problem don't work. Yes, the user can grab and move/resize, but the box keeps the same size. I'll try to embed two screenshots, so you can see for yourself.

Here's nr 1:

And here is the second screenshot, after the 'grabbing'.

I have seen the same issue with the tinymce resize… it only resizes in the vertical direction… I think this is because the buttons extend too far horizontally… and it only lets you resize to a min width that holds all the buttons..

If that's the problem, then maybe Swordfish can change the code of the next update so that it will automatically divide the row of buttons on two seperate rows?

That's correcty. I didn't realise you had a very thin column there. Hard to deal with that although you could go to a second toolbar and split the buttons or remove some.

the best solution, of course, is to make the column wider from which the whole forum would benefit!

Maybe we need to think about getting some options in place for the editor toolbar….

The forum is 50% of the screen, i thought enough :-) and with any resolution higher than 1024×768 it works fine. But i'm looking into removing the right sidebar when the forum is used. Then the whole forum has more space.

I've logged a task to get some options for the toolbar. Won't be until 3.2 earliest though I'm afraid.

I figured it out. Just made a new pagetemplate for the forum and it now has all the space it needs.

Thanks all.
