I recently installed your forum (which look awesome, btw) and managed to setup two groups and a few forums. However, I soon found myself unable to change anything with them. All user settings (forum page, email, blacklist word etc.) still retained the ability to be edited.
I completely uninstalled the forum, and reinstalled (3.1.3, patched to 3.1.4) without any error messages, and the same deal, except now, I have no groups/forums as I completely uninstalled everything), and I can’t create new ones.
I tried to create new groups/forums in several different browsers on the assumption that it *might* have been a browser issue.
MySQL ver: 5.0.67
I’m stumped.
Thanks for all the help!

sorry, not sure I follow your issue… “all user settings still retained the ability to be edited”…
what do you mean by that statement?
when you say completely uninstalled the forum, did you use the uninstall in the forum plugin itself to ensure all db items were removed or do it by hand? if by hand, did you remove all the spf options in the wp_options table?

I can edit page slugs, and anything else under the “manage options” heading. However, I cannot alter anything under the headings of manage forum, manage user groups, manage permission sets, and manage database, though there isn’t anything for me to change in there since I can’t set anything else up.
I removed the plugin via the “remove forum” checkbox in the toolbox.

Nope. I click, and nothing happens.
The address of the link for Create Group is:
http://www.thinkreasonable.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=simple-forum/admin/sf-adminforums.php#
I click on it, and it goes nowhere, though the page refreshes.
I’ve tried to change these settings on two machines now. Same results on both.
No ideas on my end.

Sorry, PHP ver. 5.0.67
MySQL 4.1.22. Just for laughs, I just did a clean uninstall/reinstall and got this message:
MySQL Version 4.1.22-max-log:
Warning: Your version of MySQL is not supported by Simple:Press Forum. However your installation may prove successful but also may not install the forum tables correctly.
I was under the impression that 4.1.22 was the beginning of supported db vers? Am I wrong?

mysql version 4.1.21 and above should be supported just fine…
I am bit thrown by the version check in the current 3.1.x as its different than the check currently in place for the upcoming v4… looks like the check in v3 is incorrect which might explain why some folks have no issues and others do…
I think you can safely ignore the warning…
what happened after the new install?
If you want to PM me a temporary admin account, I would be willing to take a look and see if anything jumps out in your set up… understand if thats not doable or acceptable…

The error pops, I install over it anyway, and it goes without any other issues….just not allowing me to change anything other than the forum options.
