I have just loaded the forum and I have this code appearing throughout the forum  .

Can someone tell a newbie, non techie person why, and how to fix it :Smile

If you would like to see what it looks like this is the URL:

I suspect you have a conflict between plugins…  especially ones modifying post content…

try disabling all your plugins except SPF and see if you still have the same issue… if not, reenable plugins one by one until the problem resurfaces - you will have the conflict…  be sure to clear your browser cache each time as javascript and other stuff  will be maintained in there…

please report back what happens…

and trying not to be critical, and its not at all related to our issue, but thats an awful narrow forum setup…

Hi Papa and thank you for your response Smile

I will try all of those things that you have suggested and please don't feel bad about your last comment, I have been looking at it all day and wondering how that can be changed. The only thing I could think of was moving everything from the right hand side bar over to the left and seeing if it widens. As I said I am a total newbie and I am learning new things that I can do most every day, so I will see what I can do.

I had wondered if the forum could have been loaded on a blank page so it had the whole page to itself. Any thoughts on that?

I am so pleased to be able to have available to me this forum plugin Laughing

Problem solved, I disabled only one plugin and it resolved.

Thanks for your suggestion about altering the forum page.

But I must say that I think the colour of the forum fits in well with my siteLaughing

Hi Chief :)

Well it was one called 'Uniquifier'.

Can you tell me please, how do I make a copy of the page.php? I am a total newbie and I haven't a clue :( and also what do you mean by this:
Please note that the opening php tag above (  <?php )
What is the significance in the bracket ? or does it just symbolize something like this -  a dash?

You see, when you are new to things you don't know what is relevant and what isn't, so when you see something that looks like code you naturally asume that it is important :)

Is creating a new page template for the forum the best solution to the narrowness of the dispaly of the forum?

Cheers

I assime you copied WP up to your site with an FTP program? (Unless you used Fantasitco or something). Most FTP programs will allow you to copy a file. All you need to do is duplicate the template file and then rename it.

php - the software language WP and the forum plugin is written in requires these 'tags' and they must enclose all code.

I would suggest taking a look through the WP codex (from the WP site) as I think there are some simple introuctions up there - or at least links to other sites with basic tutorials.
